Mambo High are softball national champions

Gweru-Mambo High School from Gweru were crowned this year’s national high schools girls under 16 softball champions after beating Harare Girls High 16-5 in the finals held at Jameson High School in Kadoma.

In the finals they were more impressive as they defeated Girls High 1hom they had narrowly beat 6-5 in the group stages.

Mambo were in command from the group stages where they accounted for Mutare High, Nyava High, Hatfield High and Victoria High School of Masvingo.

Another Gweru school, Matinunura High came third after beating Hatfield High 3-0 in the third place off.

In the Under 20s division, Mambo finished fourth, behind winners Chinhoyi High, followed in second place by Rufaro High and  Zimuto High in third place.
