Loving dad dies as he saves son from falling log

MASVINGO-Francis Magara (32) of Ngwembe Village under Chief Mugabe died on the spot recently as he was saving his three year old son from being hit by a falling tree trunk that he was cutting.
According to Masvingo Province police spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa, the incident happened when Magara was cutting down a tree in the forest near his homestead.
As the tree began to fall, Magara saw his son in the way of the tree trunk which was falling and rushed to save him.
Although he managed to push his son to safety, the tree fell on his right side, causing serious injuries.
Magara died on the spot.
The son ran back home, crying, and informed his mother, Shamiso Haisa, (26), who rushed to the forest and found her husband already dead.
The villagers came together to help, and the body was taken to Masvingo Provincial Hospital Mortuary.
Inspector Dhewa emphasized the importance of employing safety measures when engaging in activities like tree-cutting to prevent such tragic incidents.
