MVUMA-One person died and four others were injured yesterday after they were struck by bolt of lightning during Minister of State for Midlands Provincial Affairs, Owen Mudha Ncube tour in Manhize, Mvuma.
This incident happened yesterday at around 1pm at a gathering at the giant Dinson Iron and Steel Company (DISCO) where Ncube was visiting and touring the site.
In a memo in The Midweek Watch’s possession, there was a sudden down pour with lightning and thunderstorm and Robert Makaha took shelter under a thorn tree with a number of people who were in attendance.
Robert Makaha who was seeking employment at the company died on the spot and four others sustained minor injuries and were taken to Mvuma District hospital where they are currently admitted and are all in stable condition.
His body was taken to the Mvuma District Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
Richard Lubongo(39), Leona Mucheuki, Silence Fambisai(20) and a female juvenile aged 20 were amongst the people who were hit by lightning and they are currently stable in the hospital.
