MIDLANDS – Kwekwe United have earned promotion to the Premier Soccer League for the 2025 season.

The team secured the sole ticket from the Ruvimbo Funeral ZIFA Central Region Soccer League Division 1 after army side Tongogara FC dropped crucial points in a 1-1 draw against former premiership side Sheasham FC.

Kwekwe United tops the log standing with 71 points, while Tongogara sit in second place with 67 points with one game left in the season.

The team earned the promotion without even playing their final match, as they were on a bye on Matchday 31.

Kwekwe United join ZPC Hwange FC from the Southern Region and Scotland FC, who have also earned their tickets to the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

In other results from the league, Dinson Mvuma FC defeated FC Platinum U19 by a single goal.

 Tongogara’s 1-1 draw against Sheasham, West Nicholson’s 2-1 victory over Black Eagles, and Bishopstone’s 1-1 draw with Gokwe North FC were among the other notable matches played.

Shabanie Mine, Dulibadzimu United, and Blanket Mine all recorded 3-0 victories, while Chapungu defeated ZRP Gwanda 4-1.
