Kwekwe Utd maintain promotion push with narrow win

MIDLANDS – Kwekwe United maintained their chances of being promoted to the Premier Soccer League with a narrow 1-0 victory over West Nicholson in the Central Region Soccer League.
The win means Kwekwe United are now on 55 points, five points ahead of second-placed Tongogara FC, who defeated fellow army side Chapungu 1-0.
Chapungu are third on the league table despite the loss, while Dulibadzimu United defeated Shabanie Mine FC 3-2 to move into fourth place.
The future looks bleak for Sheasham FC to return to the Premier Soccer League, as they are 14 points behind the leaders after drawing 0-0 against Gokwe North FC.
In other results, Dinson Mvuma defeated Bishopstone 2-0, Beitbridge beat Blanket Mine 1-0, and FC Platinum U19 overcame MSU 2-1. Black Eagles were awarded a 3-0 walkover win against Wangu Mazodze City.
