MASVINGO CITY-The ancient city’s biggest football rivalry reignites this Sunday as FC Wangu Mazodze lock horns with Masvingo United FC in the Mayor’s Charity Cup at Mucheke Stadium.

The two teams, who share the stadium as their home ground will face off in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.
Una Una have dominated recent fixtures between the sides winning both legs in the just ended Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League season.
However, FC Wangu Mazodze are keen to flip the script. Club spokesperson Courage Kandira said, “As a club, we are thrilled to be participating in the Mayor’s Charity Cup against Masvingo United FC. It’s an honor to be part of this wonderful initiative. Our boys are training hard, building on our strong form from the end of last season. We expect an epic encounter. We invite everyone to come in numbers and fill up Mucheke Stadium.”
On the other side, Masvingo United FC is equally focused. Spokesperson Omen Mafa said, “It is good to be partnering with His Worship and the City Council through this big match. We are taking the game seriously. We want to maintain our strong record against FC Wangu Mazodze. The morale is high and we urge our supporters to rally behind the team.”
With pride, bragging rights and charity all on the line, the city awaits a fierce football battle to remember.
