Table toppers Four Lions Football Club will be looking to extend their dominance in the ZIFA Masvingo Provincial Soccer League when they host third placed Smarlia Football Club in a highly anticipated Week 17 clash.

Four Lions FC are in red hot form, sitting comfortably at the summit with 43 points from 15 games having won 14 and drawn one.

The log leaders have been unstoppable, boasting the best defence in the league with only 4 goals conceded and a goal difference of +29.

Their opponents, Smarlia FC are no pushovers. Occupying third place with 34 points, they trail Four Lions FC by 9 points and are tied on points with second placed Power FC.

Smarlia FC head into the match high in confidence after thrashing First Touch 5-2 in their last outing.

This clash promises fireworks as both sides have potent attacks, Smarlia FC with 33 goals and Four Lions FC just one behind at 33 as well.

But with Four Lions FC yet to lose a game this season, Smarlia will need more than just firepower to break the league leaders’ unbeaten run.

A win for Four Lions FC would widen the gap at the top, strengthening their title charge while Smarlia FC will be aiming to keep pace with Power FC and prove they are still contenders.

With the title race heating up, all eyes will be on this top of the table thriller.

In other matches, Garariah FC is hosting Herentals FC at Chekai Primary, second placed Power FC hosts First Touch FC at Pavilion Ground on Saturday.

On Sunday, Sharp Arrows FC host Chiwaz at Musenyereki Primary and Molsport plays Chiredzi Stars FC at Mutema Primary.
