MASVINGO-New kid on the block, elite privately owned Junior High School has set a high bar for itself by attaining 100% pass rate at A Level 2023 Cambridge examinations, The Midweek Watch has learnt.

The 100% pass rate by Noah Marima run, Junior High is a record for a school that is less than three years old, but already competing with some of the established learning institutions in the country.

Tungamirai Mazanhi was the top student with 24 points from the five subjects that he sat for; Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science.

Tatenda Jeranyawa was the second highest with 19 points after writing 4 subjects; Biology, Information Technology, Chemistry and Mathematics.

There were 32 students who sat for the A Level 2023 Cambridge Examinations with 10 male and 22 female students.

Marima told The Midweek Watch that they are happy with the results since it is their first year and hope that as they progress into public examinations they are going to do even better.

“We are very happy with the results since it is our first year and hope that as we progress into public examinations we are going to do even better as we aim to attain exceptional results,” said Marima.

“I want to personally thank the staff and learners for their sterling work because they worked very hard to attain these outstanding results and they have raised the flag of the institution high.

“It is going to inspire other learners at the school to do like them or better and attract other learners who wish to join us, I would like to pay tribute to the Masvingo community for standing by our school since we started, their support has gone a long way in making our dream come true.

“The community had belief and trust in our vision, had it not been for them, we would have not achieved such exceptional results,” added the soft spoken Marima.

Acting school head, Munyaradzi Mataruse also reiterated that since it is their first time to participate in public examinations they have started well and they are happy with their results.

“As our first set of results we are happy because our teachers and students worked extra hard and put more effort to attain such results and as an institution it is our aim to produce a wholesome student as witnessed by the results”, said Mataruse.

The school has a total number of 386 students with 185 who are in boarding and 201 as day scholars and also they have 28 teachers with a ratio of one teacher to 20 learners.

For Advance Level they offer subjects like Accounts, Art, Biblical, Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Computer Science, Designing, Economics, Geography, History, Information Technology, Literature, Mathematics and Physics.

Junior High School is located in the leafy suburb of Rhodene and it opened its doors in 2022.
