Isak made a significant milestone in his musical journey by releasing his first album, “Zvapera” (It is finished). This achievement marked a new chapter in his career, showcasing his talent and dedication to both journalism and music.
Isak’s musical journey began in 2017, shortly after Operation Restore Legacy, when he released his first single track “Wadiwa Zimbabwe”. This marked the start of his exploration into the world of music, which he has nurtured alongside his journalism career.
“I started journalism in 2013, and music came later. But I believe both professions are art-based and that is why the transition and blending has been easy for me,” explained Isak.
The album “Zvapera” is a gospel album carrying seven tracks, each with its unique message and melody. Isak’s music is a reflection of his experiences, observations and thoughts on various aspects of life. Some of the tracks on the album include Tasunungurwa, Wakambondiitisa, Zvinopera, Hamundinzwisise, Mwari vanoziva, Thank you Jesus and it’s you Jesus.
“I draw inspiration from everyday life, news and social issues. My music is a way to express myself and telling stories that need to be told,” he says.
His latest single track Unodiwa Uri Wangu comes after the success of another single released early this year titled Mjolo Explosion.
Mjolo Explosion is a love song in which a married couple is reassuring each other of their commitment to each other and promising to take care of each other.
Unodiwa Uri Wangu and Mjolo are gospel songs laced with social commentary, capturing the day to day happenings in our society.
Isak’s journey is a testament to his passion and creativity. By successfully balancing journalism and music, he has demonstrated that with hard work and dedication, one can excel in multiple fields.
