Jealousy lover killed for fend off other suitors

CHIPINGE- A man consumed with jealousy paid dearly for his uncontrolled love as he was stabbed to death by a rival suitor.

The man from Mahachi Village, Middle Sabi was last week stabbed 6 times with an okapi knife after threatening a rival suitor from proposing to his sweetheart.

Police spokesperson for Manicaland Province, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka told The Midweek Watch that on March 20 at around 2pm, Darlington Magaisa of Gudo Village was seated under a shed at Chifagume homestead when he was approached by Simon Machuni(26) who was selling pork.

Machumi warned Magaisa from proposing love to his girlfriend, Patricia Sibanda (26) of the same village

A misunderstanding arose between the two men and they started pushing each other and they both drew out knives from their pockets and Magaisa stabbed Simon three times on the left side of his back.

Simon tried to flee from the scene but Magaisa pursued him and caught up with him and stabbed him three times on the left of his chest.

Simon managed to flee and sought refuge at Fago Chifagume’s house which was close by.

Fago restrained Magaisa from further inflicting injuries on Simon that is when Magaisa decided to flee.

Simon was taken to St Peter’s Mission

hospital using an ox-drawn cart where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

A report was made at Chisumbanje police station.

Police are appealing to the members of the public to help bring Magaisa to justice who is on the run.

Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka also urged the public to shun from using violence when resolving disputes.
