Jame West shine in ZIFA Midlands Division 2A debut

MBERENGWA-In the realm of competitive football in the vast district of Mberengwa, debutants Jame West FC are basking in glory as they made their presence felt in the ZIFA Midlands Province Division 2A.

 The team’s exceptional performance has not gone unnoticed, as they clinched victories and secure a coveted spot in the prestigious Sino Cement Company Champion of Champions Cup.

The ZIFA Midlands Division 2 comprises a total of 28 teams, split into pools A and B, each with 14 teams respectively.

As the first round of fixtures concludes, the top teams from both pools gear up for an intense showdown to determine the ultimate Midlands champion in a tournament generously sponsored by Sino Cement Company for the past decade.

Jame West FC, along with their devoted supporters, dedicated leadership, and talented players, are overjoyed at the opportunity to represent Mberengwa district on such a grand stage.

Their recent participation in the Sino Champion of Champions Tournament against log leaders Hard Rock FC from ZIFA Midlands Division 2 Pool B saw them valiantly compete, ultimately earning silver medals and a token of appreciation amounting to US$400 despite a 1-0 loss.

Saddiq Madzipa, the president and director of Jame West FC, expressed his gratitude for the chance to showcase their football prowess in front of a large audience.

He commended the team’s supporters, sponsors, coaches, and players for elevating the dream of professional football in Mberengwa to new heights, culminating in their presence at the Sino Champion of Champions event.

“It was quite an experience for us to showcase our football skills to such a large crowd. I appreciate our supporters, sponsors, coaches, and players for helping us take our dream of playing professional football in Mberengwa to the next level by participating in the Sino Champion of Champions tournament,” said Saddiq.

Vincent Nguru, the head coach of the team affectionately known as “The Yellow Metal Boys,” praised the club’s performance and management, highlighting the successful recruitment of new players during the season break.

 Despite a setback in their match against Great Dyke FC post-season break, Jame West FC bounced back with an impressive winning streak, including a notable victory against MBESA FC in a derby match.

Assistant coach Ashel Gutu acknowledged the challenges faced during the recent game against Chachacha FC, citing injuries as a major concern.

Besides the obstacles, the team showed resilience and secured a crucial win, demonstrating their determination to succeed even in adverse conditions.

Chairman Conrad Madzipa lauded Jame West FC for their stellar form in Division 2, noting their impressive record of 14 wins, 2 draws, and 1 loss out of 17 league matches.

 The team currently leads their pool with 44 points, setting their sights on promotion to Division 1 as they aim to maintain their winning streak in the remaining games.
