Jame West cleared for D1 football

MBERENGWA – ZIFA Midlands Province Division 2A league outfit Jame West Fc has been cleared to play in the Central Region Division 1 Soccer League after they paid their USD910 fine for bringing the game of football into disrepute.

Mberengwa based Jame West FC.

This was after they were found guilty of damaging the bus of Shurugwi FC.

The incident took place on October 27, 2024 at Yellow Machine ground in Mberengwa when Jame West FC supporters attacked Shurugwi FC players and officials in their team bus.

The damage resulted in Shurugwi forking out US$180 in repairs which Jame West were liable for as well as US$1000 fine which was slashed by $600.

 They also had to pay disciplinary hearing costs of USD$330.

The match ended 0-1 in favour of Shurugwi FC.

Had they failed to pay the fine it meant, Shurugwi had the ticket to play in the Central Region Division 1 Soccer League.

A confirmation letter from ZIFA in the hands of the Midweek Watch confirms Jame West as the champions.

The letter read” On behalf of ZIFA Midlands Province, l would like to inform your esteemed office and person that Jame West Fc are the winners of ZIFA Midlands Province pool A.”,it read.

Jame West FC will be joined by Hard Rock FC who won Pool B.

Under the tutelage of Ashel Gutu the Mberengwa based side  only lost two games out of the 26 played.
