On February 23, 2025, l did the unusual thing on my usual schedule; visiting YouTube around 3am.
I only visit this application when l am looking for notes in farming. Twitter & Facebook are my hunting grounds for political breaking news. When l was scrolling down on YouTube looking for something different, from my farming itinerary; my eyes were met by a disturbing heading “Is South Africa the next Zimbabwe 2.0?”
My interest intensified to learn more about what the heading was trying to compare and justify. As an avid reader of current affairs, l already know that South Africa has passed an act into a law. The new law is about land expropriation by the black South African government to give land to the landless and hopeless and rootless black South African masses. I write rootless because most black South Africans are familiar with Soshangube, Marabastad, Alexandria, Soweto, Freedom Park, Khayelitsha, etc. as their permanent dwellings.
Most of them, don’t know the rural areas of the Eastern Cape, Limpopo, North West, Western Cape, Kwazulu Natal etc. South Africa like Zimbabwe is known for its sprawling large farms with black and red fertile soils. But nearly 80% of both lands were occupied by a tiny community of the white broederskap (brotherhood). So in 2000, Robert Gabriel Mugabe, of Zimbabwe engaged in land expropriation to give landless Zimbabweans back their land. Mugabe reiterated that the struggle for Zimbabwe was primarily about land.
So most white commercial farmers were victims of the move, and the so called international community gave Zimbabwe sanctions. Sure those sanctions are bitter like salt. Zimbabwe’ s economy was reduced to zero grade. The only viable business in Zimbabwe right now is the informal sector. Most industries have closed doors; yes some independent voices in the country blame corruption as a cancer that has worsened our economic situation. Also pan-Africanist voices highlight that; corruption is a residue of the sanctions imposed in every country. As it ends up engaging in illicit money transfers and underhand dealings to make ends meet.
The Rhodesian government of Ian Smith, also engaged in those illicit deals, when the international community sanctioned it; after it declared itself independent from Queen Elizabeth. “How dare you Smith, want to disown the Crown? “But Smith was very lucky as Portugal and apartheid South Africa helped him to evade those sanctions. Rhodesia’s economy became stronger than ever, this was culminated by the hardworking and selfless Rhodies. They worked as a team “Ujamah”. The “Mbinga theory” which now obliterates the Zimbabwean scenario wasn’t there. This Mbinga theory is self serving and delusionary, exclusive and exclusionary lot.
Those who own fake mines, and businesses to confuse frustrated Zimbabweans are the ones who are enjoying the cream of Zimbabwe. So it was different in Rhodesia, they wanted to show the Queen, that they can thrive without her hand. And boom, the Rhodesian economy is a case study of resilience under sanctions.
And also Smith was lucky by that time, because there was no Society for Worldwide Inter-bank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) to talk about. No surveillance of any sort by cameras, but by physical presence, which was very, very expensive to undertake.
Now Deepseek and Chat GPT can tell them what we will think next year. So African governments are cornered as they rely in Western technology in whatever they do. Right now Zimbabwe has harboured Elon Musk’s Starlink. As South Africa snubbed Musk’s adventure; it received a barrage of attaks from both Chiefs ( Musk and Trump). Although Trump added some additives like the land issue and International Criminal Court case brought by South Africa against Israel, as a yardstick for punishment.
Israel is a capable nation that can stand on its feet, if it wants to iron out issues with South Africa. But Trump wants to treat it like its enclave. Israel was already there before the United States of America. You didn’t create the state of Israel in 1948. It’s a biblical place and you can’t take pride in thinking you made Israel, after defeating Hitler. No! Israel made America, full stop.
It’s intelligentsia is the one that makes America great, it’s bankers ( Rothschild created Wall Street) , its physicians are renowned for all modern medications, guys like Zuckerberg, make you pride. They are not all Americans but Jewry. So who made who?
America’s industrial war complex was made possible by Nazi war criminals who were active at Buchenwald, Auschwitz, Dachau, etc. So America must stop telling the world about the moral campus. Rights to land to people who stole South Africa’s land? Why are you chasing Phillipinos, Mexicans, and others from the USA? You know they are squatting in your land. And also everyone who is non-black is also squatting in Africa. The USA belongs to the Red Indians, not to Caucasians, as you are an alumni of the Ivy League, go back for more extra lessons in history.
We know about how the Western world is capable of destroying other countries’ economies. Look at Venezuela, lraq, Libya, Zimbabwe etc, they are now just Armageddon on earth. And you can’t boast of putting tariffs and sanctions as it is another form of terrorism. It affects civilians and the unborn. So Mr Trump and Sir Musk, be a little bit humble and start behaving like world leaders. This world belongs to all of us, not a certain eugenic breed.
