The Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT) in partnership with the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) has launched the 2025 ICT Access and Use by Households and Individuals survey.

The nationwide exercise which started on 6 November until the 23rd, will cover 10, 125 households across all provinces.
The objective of the survey is to assess how Zimbabweans access and use information and communication technologies (ICTs) including the adoption of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI).
Speaking to The Midweek Watch ZIMSTAT acting public relations and communications manager, Roland Chiringa said the survey will offer critical insights into digital access trends and challenges faced by households and individuals.
Enumerators will be clearly identifiable through official ZIMSTAT IDs, introduction letters and branded attire labelled “2025 ICT HOUSEHOLD SURVEY.”
Ahead of the data collection, they will also engage local police and traditional leaders to enhance community awareness and ensure smooth operations.
Chiringa urged residents to cooperate with enumerators and ensure their safety during the exercise.
He added that the sample was scientifically selected to ensure accurate representation of each province and the data gathered will help shape ICT related policy decisions and bridge digital gaps across regions.
Households can expect respectful and professional enumerators who will ask questions about their access to and use of ICTs.
