-club fined US$3 500

KWEKWE-Herentals FC aka the Students have bagged three invaluable points without kicking a ball after the Premier Soccer League (PSL) disciplinary committee found Kwekwe FC guilty for not fulfilling their league fixture.
According to a statement issued on Monday, 12 May 2025, PSL communications and media liaison officer Kudzai Bare said the club has been fined US$3 500 with US$500 of the fine suspended for the remainder of the season.
“The Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee has released the judgment in the matter involving Kwekwe United Football Club.
“The club was found guilty of failing to fulfil a scheduled Castle Lager PSL fixture and fined a sum of US$3 500 , US$500 of which is suspended for the rest of the season on condition that the club is not convicted of a similar offence. The effective fine of US$3000 together with costs of hearing to be paid by 23 May, 2025.
“In addition, the unfulfilled fixture has been awarded to Herentals Football Club on a three nil score line,” he said.
The club according to Bare is accused of misconduct under provisions 31.1.8 and 31. 2.17 for failing to fulfil a fixture and for that conduct, the club brought the league or its sponsors into disrepute or endangers the welfare of the league.
