RUSAPE-Three heartless robbers still at large disappeared with hard to get 12 laptops that are used by learners from a primary school in rural Rusape after tying the security guard’s hands and legs at night and broke into the head’s office.

The sad incident happened on March 7 at around 11:30pm at Chiwetu Primary School when three unknown male suspects in dark clothes armed with iron bars and a grinder pounced on the school security guard Chamwaita Elias Komo (64) and tied him, threatening to kill him if he made any movements to disrupt their evil mission.
Two of the robbers, who appeared to be familiar with the school premises broke the screen door of the head’s office into the storeroom using the iron bars, leaving one of their accomplice guarding the guard.
They gained entry and used the grinder to open the safe lock to the Chubb where they took away 12 HP laptops valued at US$3 018 leaving behind 18.
They also took away 5litres of cooking oil from the head’s office, an adaptor and disappeared from the scene.
Komo managed to free himself and went to inform Layford Rutsape (48) a teacher at the school who had locked the doors before dusk.
Rutsape reported the matter to ZRP Rusape Rural the following day at around 9:30am and they attended the scene.
Manicaland Province acting police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chiyoka said nothing has been recovered so far and investigations are in progress.
Chinyoka added that anyone with information that may lead to apprehension of the robbers should report to the nearest police station.
