Great news for Great Dyke as Palawani brings wellness challenge

ZVISHAVANEGreat news for the Great Dyke community as Palawani Lake World resort brings 2023 wellness challenge through walk, run and Zumba.

The life changing event will be held at Palawani Lake World Resort on May 27, 2023.

  Munyaradzi Hwengwere the owner of Palawani Lake World Resort, director of Yah FM and General Manager of Buy Zimbabwe said the Palawani wellness challenge is an annual event that is meant to promote awareness against drugs and substance abuse. He also said that it is a program which promotes physical fitness of the people of all ages.

‘‘We are in a rich region of Great Dyke where the same riches can be used for detrimental effects drugs, alcohol and substance abuse. As Palawani we have positioned ourselves to be a place that is eco-friendly and a place that allows individuals to retreat, rejuvenate and become better people so that the Great Dyke can be a zone that unlocks its mineral and agricultural potential so that they won’t be a need to go to UK.

‘‘The primary issue around fitness is to get people around the community to come together and realize that they can be better people through taking care of their bodies. This event brings together all people from Zimbabwe to appreciate that YOUR HEALTH IS YOUR WEALTH,’’ said Hwengwere.

Palawani Sales and Marketing Manager Bright Manwere who will also be taking part in the marathon said there will be prizes and accommodation packages for the winners.

‘‘There will be prizes which include medals, T-shirt’s, accommodation packages for the winners and a lot more. I myself will also be running during the event,’’ said Manwere.

He also said that there will be entertainers such as Brave the soloist and Goda Moyo to grace the event and that it was organized by Elliot Mujaji.

Palawani wellness challenge is now a year old. Registration is still in progress, US$5 for under 13, US$10 for under 20 and US$20 for seniors.
