GOKWE-Temba Munyoro (42), from Venge Village under Chief Chireya in Gokwe, allegedly committed suicide after he heard that the Police was investigating him in connection with sodomy allegations.
Midlands police spokesman, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko told The Midweek Watch that Munyoro’s body was found hanging on a mango tree at an abandoned homestead.
He said the incident occurred on 21 September 2023 around 4am.
Insp Mahoko said Munyoro got the news of being under police investigations while drinking beer at Nyamhara Business Centre.
“At around 4am, the next morning Munyoro woke up and left his wife behind in bed. When his wife woke up, she could not find him resulting in her informing neighbors and they began searching for him,” said Mahoko.
Mahoko urged members of the public to respect the sanctity of life and seek counselling when confronted by such challenges.
