FC Wangu Mazodze suspended

Sports Reporter

MIDLANDS – The Ruvimbo Funeral Central Region Division 1 Soccer League has suspended FC Wangu Mazodze City for failing to attend scheduled soccer matches.

According to the league administrator, Gift Nyapomwe, the club failed to fulfill three fixtures, leading to the suspension.

FC Wangu Mazodze City was formed as an offshoot of the original FC Wangu Mazodze, which currently plays in the ZIFA Eastern Region and is leading its league.

The new club in the Midlands was an attempt to gain Premier Soccer League status in two leagues, but the project failed, leading the owner to withdraw sponsorship and focus solely on the team in the Eastern Region.

The Midlands-based club is currently in 13th position in the Ruvimbo Funeral Central Region Division 1 Soccer League, having played 24 games, won 5, drawn 9, and lost 10.

The suspension of FC Wangu Mazodze City was effected this week.
