MILLICENT HUNGWE
MASVINGO CITY-Supporters of the flamboyant FC Wangu Mazodze were ejected from the Masvingo Magistrate courtroom after erupting in laughter during a court proceeding.

The supporters erupted into laud a laughter during Priscilla Chikute’s explanation for seeking a peace order against the club’s supporters’ president, Sibbs Clive Munedzimwe whom she accused of destroying her impending marriage to her sweetheart.
The supporters were chucked out of the courtroom as well as the premises of the court by Magistrate Lynette Tariro Mudzingo for erupting in laughter when Priscilla was giving her evidence in her application for peace order against Sibbs.
According to Chikute’s testimony, she had been receiving abusive messages from Munedzimwe, including one where he allegedly referred to her as a “hure rezhara” (destitute prostitute).
“He uses multiple numbers to insult me, damaging my dignity and reputation. He even went as far as telling the man I was supposed to marry that, ‘kana wakamuisa nyoro wafa’ (if you had unprotected sexual intercourse you will die),” Chikute told the court.
This testimony caused the die-hard Wangu Mazodze supporters to erupt in laughter, and when asked by Magistrate Lynette Tariro Mudzingo why they were laughing, the witnesses claimed that the complainant was lying.
Magistrate Mudzingo immediately ejected the supporters the courtroom and the premises.
Speaking to the press afterward, Munedzimwe expressed shock over the granting of the peace order, stating that he only knew Chikute from the team’s WhatsApp group, where he is the administrator.
“It all started when she called the coach late at night asking if he was coming. I advised her to stop doing that. Her behavior, including stepping on a school bus seat while drunk after matches, contributed to her dismissal from the executive committee,” he said.
“This might be the reason she filed this peace order, which I don’t think is justified,” Munedzimwe added.
He also claimed that Chikute is close to his ex-wife, as she once sent a picture of his son in the football club group, accusing him of neglecting the child.
The peace order was granted by Magistrate Mudzingo, valid for one year, prohibiting Munedzimwe from sending any messages to Chikute on social media platforms.
