The Masvingise community in Gutu South has been left speechless following a bizarre incident where a father and daughter hung themselves a few metres from each other in the same mountain.
The two are alleged to have been involved in a steamy incestuous relationship.
According to villagers, the father identified as Madanhike and his daughter took their own lives by hanging themselves on tree branches.
A villager confirmed to The Midweek Watch on the phone that the bodies were taken to Gutu Mission Hospital by the police for postmortem examination on April 23 in the morning. The Deputy Police Spokesperson in Masvingo Province, Assistant Inspector Masauso Patinyu, said they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“We will confirm all the circumstances surrounding the incident,” Assistant Inspector Patinyu said.
