Expect water at midday: City Of Harare

City of Harare has urged residents to use water sparingly as Morton Jaffray Water Treatment plant is still to get power since 14:20 hours yesterday.

The city said it will restore pumping of water as soon as power is restored.

“ZETDC are working on it. Tentative time of restoration is 12 noon,” said Stanley Gama, Head, and Corporate Communications.

The City Morton Jaffray experienced a power failure at 1430hrs yesterday and this has affected pumping of water to residents.

ZESA technicians have indicated that there might be a problem on the Parkridge Sub Station feeder and are working to restore the power.

Gama said Morton Jaffray’s alternative and dedicated Norton feeder line was lost on 17 October because of the storm that hit most parts of the country and ZESA are still to restore the dedicated line.

As a result of the power failure at Morton Jaffray, most of the city has no water since Friday.
