MASVINGO CITY-ZIFA Eastern Region Soccer League (ERSL) will this Saturday conduct induction for the newly promoted clubs.

The Regional Administrator, Fungai Munyoro-Chingaira confirmed the development and said the workshop will be held at Flamboyant Hotel in Masvingo City.

“We will be having an induction workshop for our new boys this coming Saturday. These are the teams which got promoted from our provincial leagues. We have to make sure that they familiarize with the statutes and club administration before we start the season.

“These include Chicken Inn FC from Manicaland, Bikita Rulers FC from Masvingo and Rusununguko Academy FC from Mashonaland East province,” she said.

ERSL last season ended up with 15 teams after Ruwa FC pulled out due to financial constraints.

Chingaira said the league has also extended an invitation to other teams to be part of the region.

“We always make room for other teams which are able to meet the requirements of ERSL to join us in case old teams fail to be part of us due to various reasons.

“We have St Pauls Musami, Great Zimbabwe University FC, Nyika FC, Chamupupuri Tigers FC and Destiny Stars FC. These team can only be admitted in the league in the event that there is a slot and also if they meet our requirements,” Chingaira told The Midweek Watch.

The relegated teams are JM Busha which finished second from last and Chiredzi Stars which had a permanent spot on the bottom of the log.

Chingaira said the region welcomes back Triangle FC who got relegated from the Premier Soccer League last year. She also said the 2024 season will kick-off on the first week of April.
