ED’s 200 chickens will transform Zim economy-Mabel Chinomona

Date:

How, on Planet Earth, can a mere 200 chickens transform the economy of a country the size of Zimbabwe?

Senate President Mabel Chinomona.

This was the question many internet users were left asking after a video of Senate President, Mabel Chinomona, insinuating that the 200 chickens they received from President Emmerson Mnangagwa will transform Zimbabwe into an upper-middle-income economy, went viral on social media.

Speaking in the vernacular Shona, Chinomona said the chicken project will also be passed on to others and everyone will start ‘eating chicken in their various households’, thereby transforming the economy of Zimbabwe.

This invited amplified criticism from internet users, with many questioning the intellectual wellness of the Senate President and those who appointed her in Government.

“Isusu semadzimai, tine zvizhinji zvatakaitirwa na VaMnangagwa. Takapihwa huku, ma road runner, saka takazowona kuti mukuita ma road runner iyawo nesu tinogona kuita pass on to others. Kuita pass on kureva kuti huku dzedu ma road runner dzinogona kuita mazai. Mazai acho ochechena, achechena mazai acho, dzava hukwana topawo vamwe. Tichidaro, tichidaro kusvika tese tisingachashamisiki nekudya nyama yehuku mumba,” Chinomona ranted.
