Decomposing body floating at disused water reservoir

GWERU- Police in the Midlands Province are appealing for information that may assist in the identification of a man’s body found floating in a disused water reservoir in Gweru City.

The man’s age is estimated to be above 30 years old.

Midlands Provincial Police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko is appealing to members of the public who have a missing relative to come forward.

“We are appealing to members of the public who are missing a relative matching the given description or having information which may help identify the body and establish full circumstances surrounding the death to approach any police station,” said Mahoko.

 The body was discovered floating in a disused water body between ZINWA offices fence and Gweru River on 12 July 2023.

It was in an advanced state of decomposition and is suspected to be of coloured or Asian origin.

The diseased person was wearing a stripped brown long sleeved shirt, black/brown jean trousers size 32/34 with a black sharp label, NFO black sneakers and a gold plated wrist watch with a belt.

The body had a tattoo inscribed ‘WEED’ on the left wrist and undistinguished tattoos on both lower limps. The estimated weight is +/-75kgs and has black short hair and moustache.
