Zvishavane recently held the third edition of the Great Dyke Awards on the 11th of November 2023, with the young Anashe Gonye (9) being crowned Exceptional Young Talent category winner.

It was indeed a significant achievement for the nine-year-old artist who also won the Upcoming Artist category award the previous year.

Anashe started her music career in 2021, when she was seven and it did not take her time to break into stardom with her hit song Mama which became so popular in the Zimbabwean music circles.

Anashe has collaborated with Zimbabwe’s prominent artists such as Nicky Genius on her song titled Mwari Vakatisika and she now has a total of 11 songs.

In an interview, Anashe ‘s manager Edna Siziba said, ” I want to thank the directors of Great Dyke Awards, I would also want to thank Marian Junior School for supporting Anashe Music and making sure that she scoops high grades in her school work.”

In a separate interview Anashe said she is very grateful to God who has been her pillar of strength and her parents who have been supportive since she started her music career.

” Firstly, I want to say I’m very happy, it’s been God since day one. I also want to thank my mom and dad who supports me all the way until today. I wasn’t expecting to win this award at this age. I’m actually surprised and I want to thank all those who support my music,” she said.

Meanwhile, the young artist is working on a song that educates youth on the dangers of drug abuse, urging them to stay away from drugs and substance abuse.
