Letter to editor

Dear Zimbabwean citizens

Mr President Mnangagwa declared that he will respect the Constitution and step down at the end of his term.

All those who are organising meetings and demonstrations for President Mnangagwa to violate the Constitution are the enemies of the state in fact they are terrorists. They want Mr President Mnangagwa to commit a crime….makashata vanhu imi.

One of the duties of the police is toĆ·

1) prevent crimes.

If our police see a robber armed targeting a shop they will not wait until he has robbed but will *”prevent the crime”*.

In the same vain we urgently appeal to our police to arrest all those who call for Mr President Mnangagwa to unconstitutionally seek for extension of his term or a third term. Sungai vese vanoda kuti Mr President Mnangagwa vapare mhosva.

Mr President Mnangagwa as a person who told the nation that you respect the Constitution, can you comment on demonstration, protest and peaceful marches are they also in the Constitution you so respect?

You never said you respect a clause or chapter of the Constitution but you declared that you love Zimbabwe and respect the Constitution.

We hope you will demonstrate that you respect the whole document. Hatide munhu anoverenga Bible achisarudza mamwe machapter achisiya.

Mr President Mnangagwa when this new Constitution was being written I remember the Copac Co Chairpersons of Mwonzora & Mangwana before they send it to the principals the next door they knocked was Mnangagwa, Biti and Misihairambwi Mushonga.

This means you are so well versed with the provisions of peaceful marches, demonstrations, and protests as in our constitution.

Thank you Mr President Mnangagwa we all hope you will school some of the Constitutional illiterate ZanuPF members about democratic rights as in the Constitution of Zimbabwe.

This is not American nor British Constitution but our own. Hatitevedzeri Constitution yevapambefumi isu asi yedu yakauya nehondo yeChimurenga inoti kudiniko about demonstrations, protest marches etc?

Yours in Democracy

David Mugazambi Chikukwa Chineunye
