GWERU— A Gweru couple was found dead with the woman lying beside a burnt-out car, while the husband discovered hanging from a tree in a suspected murder-suicide, police said on Wednesday.
The woman, Definite Musomekwa was found early Tuesday about 1.5 metres behind the charred wreck of a Honda Fit along Fletcher Road near King Cobra Mine.
The Midlands provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said the husband was identified as Nigel Mukoki, who had borrowed the car from a friend to attend a rural memorial service.
Mukoki was found dead later the same day in what police believe was suicide.
Insp Mahoko said investigations were under way and urged people facing personal difficulties to seek help.
“We reiterate the call for troubled individuals to at least share their issues with a third party,” he added.
