MIDLANDS- The ZIFA Midlands Province Division 2A league is back after mid season break and the return has seen contrasting fortunes for Mberengwa clubs which occupied second and third position on the log respectively before the weekend games.
Mbesa FC who are second secured a 3-2 victory over Midlands FC. They got their goals from Takudzwa Moyo who scored a brace and Qubani Zonda.
However, things did not go the same way for their counterparts Great Dyke FC who got a shock 1-0 defeat by Jemice Academy.
Tinoziva Mutazu scored the solitary goal of the game which sees the Mberengwa based club remain on 19 points and have fallen to position five on the table still trailing log leaders Black Eagles by six points.
Mbesa FC are now on 22 points three points adrift from the log leaders who still have a game in hand.
Speaking to The Midweek Watch, Great Dyke secretary Rochford Pikanegore said the team played well and they will gain momentum soon as they are working on combinations.
” The team played well it’s just they have been on a break hence combinations are still being worked on and they will bounce back into form,” he said.
