ZVISHAVANE -Prominent Zvishavane businesswoman, Slyvia Choruwa who is the director of lsheanopa Group of Companies has donated over US2 500 to a local choral band, Tariro ye Denga for it to be fully functional.
This donation was part of a fundraising event held at the Methodist Church, aimed at raising US$5 000 for the band to cater for its various needs.
The funds raised during the event will be used to purchase a PA system for the band’s performances, cover travel expenses, aid in the recording of an album, and provide uniforms for the band members.
Choruwa aka Mai Isheanopa went beyond financial support and donated clothes and shoes to Dr. Beco, a visually impaired artist who was present at the event as part of her commitment to helping the community.
Choruwa has been instrumental in changing lives in Zvishavane as she has been donating in schools, clinics as well as to traditional leaders as part of Corporate Social Responsibility.
Mai Isheanopa emphasized that giving is not solely reserved for the wealthy.
“l encourage everyone to learn to give, even if it’s just a small contribution, as it can make a significant impact in supporting community members in need. I also urge women to step up and make your voices heard in various aspects of life, such as education and business,” she said.
Tariro ye denga is a well-known choral band associated with the Methodist Church, and the fundraising event was well-attended by community members.
