Chivi man in custody for possession of dangerous drugs

CHIVI-Ocean Ncube (24) has been arrested by police for possession of dangerous drugs. The arrest was made possible following a tip-off from the public, which led the police to Ncube’s homestead in Njovo, Chivi.

Masvingo Province police spokesperson, Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa, said that they received information on March 17, 2025, that Ncube’s homestead was being frequented by people seeking to buy drugs. A thorough search of the premises resulted in the recovery of approximately 4kgs of dagga and 30x 100mls of Bronclear cough syrups.

Ncube has been charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs as defined in Section 157 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 9:23 and 29(1) of the Medicines and Allied Substances Act Chapter 15:03.

Inspector Dhewa commended the public for providing information that led to Ncube’s arrest.

 “We applaud members of the public for supplying fruitful information which led to the arrest of the accused person. Police shall continue to partner with the community in the fight against drug and substance abuse,” said Dhewa.
