CHIKOMBA- Chivhu-based local Taekwondo club, Muvsports made the country proud after scooping several gold medals in a four nations Taekwondo Tournament at Botswana University in Gaborone recently.
The four nations that took part at the tournament are Mozambique, Botswana, Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
Muvsports’s Tarirai Normally Masunganye took part in the +69kgs category and won silver while Trust Mupereri won bronze in the -28kgs category.
Good Hope Junior School Taekwondo club operating under Muvsports were represented by Jamiel Tigere who won gold in the -36kgs category, and Constance Nhlizio who also won gold in the –42kgs girls category.
Both clubs are under the guidance of founder of Muvsports Taekwondo Club and trainer Givemore Muvuti (34).
In an interview with The Midweek Watch Muvuti said he was impressed by the performance of the students at the tournament and went on to thank Good Hope School authorities for supporting the Taekwondo school club as well as the parents for their overwhelming support.
“I am impressed with the performance of my team and would like to thank the parents and Good Hope Junior School for their support and commitment to the taekwondo sport in the interest of creating a responsible disciplined and a health generation far from drug and substance abuse,” said Muvuti.
