Chipinge man murders 2 months pregnant wife, leaves body to decompose

CHIPINGE-A heartless Chipinge man murdered his two months pregnant wife in cold blood and locked the door from outside the house for the body to decompose.

Isaiah Simango (28) of C47 Christina Dairy in Makandi Estate, Chipinge allegedly killed his two months pregnant wife, Enia Sigauke Njikizana (22) using a mattock and a switch and locked the body from outside and fled the scene.

Manicaland Province police deputy spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Magaya told The Midweek Watch that on December 10 at around 4am a next door neighbor Nyaradzai Ncube of C46 smelt a heavy stench from Simango’s room and went on to inform the foreman, Dakarai Mlambo.

The two teamed up and went to investigate and they agreed to call in the police as the smell was suspicious.

The police found Njikizana’s body in an advanced state of decomposing lying on the floor covered with a blanket.

They found a mattock and a 50cm switch on the side of the body with maggots coming out.

Enesi Dube from Mutikwanda Village under Chief Mutema who is the deceased’s mother positively identified the body and it was taken to Chipinge General Hospital for a postmortem.

Nyaradzai told the police that on December 6 at night he heard an altercation in the couple’s house and the following day Simango did not report for duty.

Simango was arrested at Chipinge General Hospital after he had taken poison but did not die and he is under police guard waiting to appear in court for murder.

Chinyoka warned the public not to take the law into their own hands and to seek counselling where there is a misunderstanding between people.
