CHIPINGE-The 2023 edition of the Chipinge Agricultural Show has started today (Thursday) and will run till Saturday at the Chipinge Show Grounds, the organizers have said.
The show is running under the theme: “Going for Agricultural, Industrial and Economic Growth.
Chipinge Agricultural Show chairperson Samuel Maronga said the show remains committed to provide the best networking platform for businesses and farmers in the district and beyond.
“All is set for the 2023 Chipinge Agricultural Show. We have prepared well for this big event. We have added three ablution facilities at the grounds. We are so happy that all the roads that lead to the ground were graded during the Ndabaningi Sithole gala,” he said.
Maronga said there are various categories of exhibitors.
“We are charging according to categories. We have corporates and big companies who are paying US$200 to exhibit. Non-governmental organizations, parastatals are paying US$200 as well.
“Funeral assurance companies and Small and Medium Scale Businesses are paying US$175 and US$150 respectively. Government departments and small companies are paying US$100 and US $50 respectively. Individuals are paying IUS$25 while vendors’ fee is pegged at US$15. Entrance fee is free for now since our show ground is huge and require a substantial amount of money to finish fencing it,” he said.
As of yesterday (Wednesday), a total of 60 companies had confirmed their participation. This was confirmed by Chipinge Agricultural Show vice-chairperson James Gabaza.
“We are having over 60 companies at the show. Some of the companies that have confirmed their participation include SeedCo, Agriseeds, K2, Econet, Nyaradzo, Tanganda, Farm and City, Chipinge Town Council, Chipinge Rural District Council, ZRP, Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services, ZINWA and the E-Passport Office. Companies are still pitching their tents and stands since there were disturbed by rains yesterday.” he said.
Gabaza said the show will be officially opened by the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Mishack Mugadza on Saturday.
He also encouraged the community to come in their numbers and said there will be a lot of entertainment.
