Chadzamira scoffs at article alleging he stopped ED2030 slogan

MIDWEEK REPORTER

Zanu PF Central Committee member and Masvingo Province State Minister, Ezra has dismissed an article which went viral on social media alleging that he banned the controversial ED2030 slogan in the province.

Masvingo Province State Minister addressing Zanu PF supporters during a victory celebration at Sipambi Training Centre in ward 11 under Chief Charumbira.

Chadzamira who is President Mnangagwa’s staunch supporter and blue eyed boy in Masvingo Province told The Midweek Watch that there is absolutely nothing wrong in chanting the slogan because it their democratic right to push for their interests in the party.

“Why are you angered by the slogan, if you really love your President what is wrong in saying he will be in office until 2030, even if we say ED2080 there is nothing wrong with that, after all a resolution was passed in Bulawayo to that effect.

“Why are some people angered by a mere slogan, you are a suspect, surely one cannot lose sleep over a slogan.

“Those who have gone on social media purporting that I have banned the slogan here in Masvingo are hallucinating, this was one of the conference’s resolutions in Bulawayo and all the provinces voted for that,” said Chadzamira.

He said this at Sipambi Training Centre victory celebrations in Ward 11, Masvingo West under Chief Charumbira where he is the Member of the House of Assembly legislator.

EZERA CHADZAMIRA BRINGS TO AN END, THE SLOGAN FOR 2030 IN MASVINGO PROVINCE

Minister of State and Devolution in the Office of the President,Ezera Chadzamira , brings the slogan for 2030 to an abrupt halt in Masvingo Province. He said that, this slogan has been banned after a long discussion and upon interrogation ,he insisted that all Chairpersons for Masvingo Province should stop chanting this slogan for it is lacking merits to support the constitution,” reads the article.

Chadzamira told the gathering that there is no need for party members to talk about elections now as there are four years to the next elections, rather people should concentrate on developmental issues and not to be electioneering every time.

Zanu PF Masvingo Province vice chairman Trust Mugabe weighed in and warned those abusing social media to cause disunity in the party that they will be decisively dealt with swiftly through his office.

“The party spoke in Bulawayo and who are you to go against the wishes of the majority, those who are opposed to 2030 are sellouts.

“Now is not the time to talk about positions, lets recruit more members into the party and help the youth to fight drugs and substance abuse, stop going to beer halls in the morning instead of developing your areas,” said Mugabe.

Masvingo district coordinating committee chairman Tawanda Dube also told the same gathering that;; “pachigaro chavaMnangagwa hapamigwe migwe, unochohwa chohwa,”.

Meanwhile, Chadzamira said despite losing the 2023 elections in ward 11 he has decided to celebrate with those who voted for the party as they contributed to the victory.

He said he will ensure that no one starves and he will pay for the transportation of inputs to their areas for the 2024-25 planting season as well as food aid unlike in other constituencies where beneficiaries contribute money to hire trucks.

“Of all the wards in the constituency ward 11 has immensely benefited from the programs that I have initiated including this training centre, you have more boreholes per capita compared to other wards.

“I will ensure that every village has a borehole and a clinic will be built at Sipambi as well before the 2028 elections,” he said.

Ward 11 shadow councillor Petros Jordan appealed for urgent food aid in the area because villagers were already starving as most have run out food.
