MASVINGO – As the year-end approaches, Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Ezra Chadzamira took time to chronicle and take stock of the devolution projects that have been achieved in his first term in office.
Chadzamira was speaking at the 3rd Quarter Provincial Committee meeting at Great Zimbabwe University Herbert Chitepo Law School recently.
The meeting was meant to take stock of the implementation of projects and programmes as outlined in the provincial development plan in line with the NDS1 and Vision 2030.
“A number of life-transforming projects have been completed and on behalf of the province and thousands of men and women these projects serve, I want to extend my very sincere appreciation of the successes we have recorded as the Provincial Development Committee for the quality of life of our people,” said Chadzamira.
The projects include but not limited to the completion of the Great Zimbabwe Innovation Hub for Dryland Agriculture in Chivi District, rehabilitation of Buffalo Range Airport, Mwenezi Paprika and Sesame processing plants.
Continuation of borehole drilling by DDF and ZINWA, building of schools and clinics in all districts to completion and continuation of road construction programmes and bridges across various Masvingo districts.
Chadzamira also mentioned the goals of refurbishing railways for mining projects in the province like the yet-to-be-commissioned Mashava Chrome Smelting Plant, working on the completion of 5 Megawatts Great Zimbabwe Hydro Power Station at Mutirikwi Dam in Masvingo District and commencing the 15 Megawatts Tugwi-Mukosi Hydro Power Station in Masvingo.
