Kwekwe-The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) is spearheading development in the informal business sector in a bid to increase their revenue inflows in ward 14 of Kwekwe Constituency which are on the decline due to economic challenges in the country.

The CCC ward 14 Councilor of Kwekwe Constituency Musungwa Zinhanga embarked on a mission of locating the disadvantaged ones in the informal trade so that he can boost their fortunes in view of the economic challenges faced by the sector.

Zinhanga has changed the state of informal business sector through assisting some informal traders in acquiring goods that are in short supply.

“As CCC party members, we are on a mission to cushion some informal business traders with goods or stuff that they need to boost their businesses especially those that are in short supply,” said Zinhanga.

“With the financial assistance from a non-governmental organization, we have currently helped more than sixty informal traders within the constituency of Kwekwe so that the informal business sector will not close as a result of the unforgiving economic environment prevailing in the country.

“The most affected sector is the informal traders hence we decided to come to their rescue,”.

A vendor in ward 14 of Kwekwe constituency, Henry Masunda said “Councilor Zinhanga has chipped in with sturdy support in the informal business sector which have been heavily affected by harsh economic hardships like inflation and unemployment.

“Before his support we had no other external sources of income to boost the efficiency of our business. Councilor Zinhanga provided us with some business products like drinks, oranges, zapnacks, apples among others”.

“I am one of the informal business trader living in ward14 of Kwekwe constituency and I received help from councilor Zinhanga who managed to provide me with some stuff to sell like biscuits, drinks and matches to boost my business,” said Ashly Makumire.

Meanwhile, Councilor Zinhanga also said he is identifying and helping some disadvantaged housemaids in ward 14 of Kwekwe constituency with some mealie meal for survival.

Ireen Mapako (33) had this to say “Councilor Zinhanga helped us with some mealie meal, he changed our lives as the most incapacitated informal workers, I am very grateful for his support”.

“I am very happy with the support from Councilor Zinhanga in changing our lives, he did a lot by supplying us with food which as our salaries are not enough to sustain our lives,” said Teclar Magara, a housemaid in ward 14 of Kwekwe constituency.
