Busy Bee Academy at Rutenga Growth Point in Mwenezi District hosted a colorful careers day on July 12th, which was well-attended by people from all walks of life.
The event was marked by engaging role-plays as the kindergarten students exhibited different professions.
The audience was captivated by the impressive performances of the young learners showcasing a variety of occupations.
One particularly notable act was the mock court session, which left the audience in awe as the young learners, Great Tinotenda Chimanikire and Merchella Marambidze, displayed remarkable proficiency in legal jargon and courtroom proceedings, reminiscent of seasoned practitioners, despite being in Grade Two and ECD B, respectively.
Tafara Artwell, a Grade 1 student, also impressed the audience in his role as the judge, delivering a well-reasoned judgment.
Speaking at the event, Mwenezi District Schools Inspector, Shepherd Mapara, acknowledged the importance of a careers day in facilitating talent identification and nurturing.
He emphasized the value of such events in guiding students’ career choices, in contrast to the more haphazard approach of the past.
Mapara also took the opportunity to encourage parents to support their children’s education by paying school fees on time, stressing the importance of this “collaborative effort between schools and families”.
Mwenezi District Public Service Human Resources Director, Last Gondo, also commended the administrators, teachers, and parents of Busy Bee Academy for their successful organization of the event, noting its significance in shaping the future of the learners.
Gondo highlighted the importance of “familiarizing learners with diverse professions at an early age, as it enables schools to produce responsible and focused students who contribute to nation-building”.
Busy Bee Academy continues to be a leader in educational innovation and implementation novel skills.
The ongoing state-of-the-art infrastructural developments at the school are poised to transform the educational landscape not only in Rutenga but also in the entire Mwenezi District.
The school is core-directed by Veronica Chisanga and Rex Gumbo, a married couple.
The event was graced by government officials and local business people among others.
