Breaking! SS Queens FC franchise for sale?

…as club fails to get sponsorship

MASVINGO-This is shocking and sad as the promising project and prospects of playing elite football for the young girls crumble before them due to lack of sponsorship.

This is a typical case of poverty in a sea of plenty, if Masvingo businesses put their small resources together, the situation can change over night.

Despite numerous attempts to get sponsorship from the corporate world including politicians, all that fell on deaf ears as time is fast running out for the history making club, Shine Shine Queens FC to participate in the 2023 ZIFA Women Soccer Super League.

Takaendesa Mavesere who is the coach of SS Queens told The Midweek that as things stand they are no prospects of them playing in the elite league as nobody is forthcoming with assistance of any form.

“Our situation has not changed although we paid our affiliation fee and got a training and match venue from the City Fathers who availed Mucheke Stadium for free.

“We need playing boots, jersey, training kit, transport to away games, need money for day to day running of the club, the situation is dire as we speak and chances are our slot may be taken up by another team because we can’t fulfill a single fixture even home games.

“Our hopes were raised when the league delayed to start and we thought by the time games begin something would have happened, but we are on the same position,” said Mavesere.

“We are still appealing for help from companies, they can brand the jerseys with their company logos for marketing their products and services.

“But zvikaramba zvakadai the project will die a natural death, apa tirikukumbira chero hupfu chaihwo, sanitary ware chaiyo chero chawanikwa nemunhu

“We need companies to make the team their brand ambassadors by decorating the club with their products and also decorating the Mucheke Stadium during our home matches as a way of marketing their products and services. “Vanowana fuel ngavabatsirewo, vane mota vachibatsirawo, vanosona vachisonawo zvipfeko zveclub, vanoita zvemaposter vachiitawo, vane marestuarants vachibatsirawo nefood, vane mabasa vachipinzawo vana vasingachaendi kuchikoro since it’s a community team.

“The community should know that we are not only appealing for money but for anything that will make the team go forward,” said the soft spoken coach.
