Zvishavane – A series of daring car thefts have rocked the mining town of Zvishavane, with two residents reporting their vehicles missing from their homes on the same day.

According to police reports, the incidents occurred on October 15, 2024.

Julius Biggie, 32, of Izayi Park, and Sheunopa Mashavidze, 40, of Makwasha, both had their vehicles stolen from their respective yards.

Biggie reported that he had parked his Toyota Funcargo in his yard and gone to bed around 10pm.

When he woke up at around 6am the next morning, the vehicle was missing.

The Toyota Funcargo was later found abandoned in the Mandava area, with a flat tire.

In a separate incident, Mashavidze stated that he had parked his Toyota Noah AEM 2219 in his yard around 7pm the previous evening before leaving for work.

When he returned home at around 7am the next day, the vehicle was nowhere to be found.

Midlands province police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko has appealed to the public for any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of the stolen Toyota Noah.

He also urged residents to contact their nearest police station with any relevant details.
