MBERENGWA – ZIFA Midlands Province Division 2A League log leaders, Black Eagles FC have gone 5 points clear at the summit after defeating Mvuma Stars FC 1-0 in their outstanding matches on Wednesday.

A well-orchestrated move by the log leaders was finished off by Energy Chakweya via a penalty kick to make sure the Buchwa-based outfit cemented its position at the summit.

Chachacha FC are second with 42 points in as many matches with two games remaining before the curtain comes down.

Black Eagles team Manager Wilbert Zveshure said their opponents gave them a good run for their money, however, bemoaned the state of the field which he said was not up to standard.

“The game was fair, of course, we struggled to cope with the rough pitch in the early stages but the home team who are used to their turf was knocking it around.  When we found our rhythm our speed merchant Ngwenya broke loose and was fouled in the box and a resultant penalty. Chakweya made no mistake in sending the Mvuma goalie the wrong way. That goal was enough to give us a five-point gap”, he said.
