CHIWUNDURA- Chiwundura Constituency has so far topped on number of female aspiring candidates who submitted their applications to participate in the Zanu PF weekend primary polls.

Three out of the six aspiring candidates are women which might break the male dominance in representing the Constituency since independence.
The female candidates are Vivian Maponga, Foromina Chivamba and Lindiwe Bidi.
Elton Charamba, Slaiman Kwidini and Kumbulani Ngwenya complete the list of aspiring candidates.
The increase in number of women who want to take up parliamentary positions can be attributed to various interventions by women civic organization to break the male dominance in politics.
Meanwhile, Vungu MP Omega Sibanda will be battling it out in the primary elections against the District Coordinating Committee chairperson, Brown Ndlovu, Forward Gundu and Lytin Moyo.
Ndlovu lost the Chiwundura Parliamentary seat to MDC Alliance candidate in 2018 and has now switched to contest in Vungu Constituency.
