GWERU-Paul Chiwandika (44) from Ascot Infill in Gweru has been slapped with a 24 months jail term for licking the vagina of his neighbour’s eight year old girl.
Chiwandika was convicted on his own plea for licking the grade three pupil’s vagina while leaning against a wall.
He will effectively serve 20 months after Gweru Magistrate, Patricia Gwetsayi, conditionally suspended four months for good behavior.
The case came to light when the complainant was interviewed by the accused’s wife after she saw the two leaning against the perimeter wall at her house.
Appearing for the State, Prosecutor Christine Shonhiwa told the court that on the July 23 this year at around 6pm, the minor was sent by his father to buy spaghetti at a nearby tuck-shop.
The court heard that, instead of bringing two packets of spaghetti she brought one and the father ordered her to go back and buy another packet of spaghetti which she complied.
On her way to the tuck shop, the court heard that the complainant met Chiwandika who took her money and accompanied her back home.
Chiwandika then handed over the money back to the complainant’s mother whom he warned not to send the child to the tuck shop at night.
“The accused person then asked the complainant to take him half way to his home and she complied,” said Shonhiwa.
On their way, Shonhiwa added that the complainant informed the accused that she wanted to return home but he refused insisting that he wanted to give her food.
“The two then proceeded to accused’s person house and upon arrival he took the complainant behind the house where he laid her on the ground facing upwards.
“He removed her pants and started licking her vagina several times,” added Shonhiwa.
The court heard that at that time the complainant repeatedly asked the accused that she wanted to go back home, that is when he stopped the act and asked her to stand near the perimeter wall.
Chiwandika’s luck ran out as he was spotted by his wife with the minor who in turn narrated the ordeal to her after some questioning.
She then went on to inform the complainant’s parents who reported the matter to the police which led to the arrest of the accused .
