Anglicans fund raise for Bishop’s house

MASVINGO – Anglican Diocese of Masvingo is hosting its second edition fundraising golf tourney, at Hippo Valley Country Club in Chiredzi to raise funds for the construction of the bishop’s house. 

The tournament will be held on October 18 and 19.

The two-day event is expected to raise US$10 000 which to be used specifically for the construction of one wing of the bishop’s house.

The Bishops house will have four wings upon completion.

Organizer of the event Faith Mazana said, “the golf event invites participants to contribute through various means, including cash donations, building materials, prizes, auction items, hampers, corporate giveaways, and team sponsorships. 

“Golf enthusiasts can participate in the Four ball Better ball format for $25/ $350ZIG or $200/$2800ZIG per team or individual, covering green fees and dinner,” she said

She went on to say that the Diocese welcomes donations of any kind, including items for a silent auction or raffle, which will be greatly appreciated, the draw for the event will be released on October 14th.

“By supporting this event, participants will be contributing to a noble cause, helping to build a home for the Bishop and clergy,” she said. 

The completed wing will be named the “Golf Wing” in honor of the golfers’ generosity, Mazani told The Midweek Watch.
