MUTARE-Famous Manicaland Diocese Reverend Danisa Muchichwa stationed at St Augustine Mission and a close associate of controversial Bishop Eric Ruwona has been arrested for allegedly pointing a gun at his lover’s husband.
The Midweek Watch was informed on Wednesday that Rev Muchichwa was confronted by Lovemore Mandimutsira, Sylvia Dapira’s husband following a tip off that the two were allegedly having a quality time at Mutare Sports Club, opposite Anglican Diocese offices on Tuesday morning.
When the Priest found himself cornered, he withdrew a pistol and Mandimutsira ran for dear life while the Rev was in hot pursuit.
The Rev ‘s luck ran out and was arrested by police just outside the Sports Club and is in custody.
It is alleged that three years ago he was also caught in a compromising position with the same woman by her husband and Bishop Ruwona intervened and he paid US$10 000 to conceal the matter from public domain as they felt it would tarnish the image of the Church which was then going through bad publicity due to corruption allegations.
Recently the Anglican Church was embroiled in a fees storm that led to one of its top schools in the province, St Faith to stage a protest led by learners.
