GWERU-The 98th edition of the Midlands Agricultural Show begins tomorrow, Thursday, August 22, 2024, with an increased number of exhibitors taking part compared to the previous year.

According to the Midlands Show Society Chairperson, Augustine Mupakurirwa, this year’s edition has 140 exhibitors as compared to less than 120 in the previous year, despite the challenges posed by the El Niño-induced drought.

The four-day event, running from August 22 to 25, will be officially opened by local business mogul and property developer, Clever Mandaza.

The show is being held under the theme “Strategic Innovation for Economic Growth.”

“We are expecting the number of exhibitors to increase to 140 as we are witnessing new participants coming in,” Mupakurirwa said.

“There are more exhibitors than the previous year, and this year’s edition will be bigger and better.”

In addition to the exhibition, the event will feature a business conference and networking cocktail on Friday, providing exhibitors with the opportunity to interact and exchange business ideas.

The Midlands Agricultural Show will also be spiced up by an array of entertainment, including a performance by Zimdancehall star Kelvin Kusikwenyu better known as Killer-T.
