Recently as I was abode the Tsikamusava kombi with Baba Panashe behind the wheels I got very enlightened.
It all started with me as always. The kombi atmosphere was so quiet and everyone was deep in thought in a way that created a very pacific atmosphere except for the clanging of metal as the vehicle struggled to navigate the torn and gully ridden road from Chimbudzi.
I just brought the issue of domestic tensions and stifled the psychology of my fellow passengers. The kombi was alive as nearly everyone jumped into the discussion. They acknowledged that there were a host of domestic tensions and women in the kombi differed on the options. One woman who boarded near Mativenga’s home was bold, ‘If I find out that my man has a small house I will definitely beat up the woman. ‘ I asked innocently what if the man beats up the woman how would the woman execute such. ‘
One of the participants in the discussion, a woman of course said, ‘I would use every weapon that is at my disposal.’ The guy who was seating close to me whispered, ‘ This is my wife and she is being very truthful. She chased me with a machete after she caught a message from another woman in my phone.’
The woman was now taking it more personal. ‘Ini kana zvebhemba zvakona ndosunga murume(If the machete method fails i will use portions to lock the man. ‘ Amai Bee (not real name) burst in astonishment at this revelation. The discussion then centred on the ‘kusunga’ issue. Every man in the kombi disputed this and said it was a very unfair way of resolving tensions. It was not a rightful option one of the passengers said.
It’s just a view nothing else.
