CHIREDZI- The Seventh Day Adventist Church has been plunged into mourning following the passing on of the late army supremo Gumbo’s wife and staunch church member, Grace Ruicha Gumbo yesterday evening.
She reportedly collapsed at the SDA’s Zunde conference in Chiredzi as she was getting into her car and was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
A close relative, Choice Mubvumbi confirmed the sad news and described the deceased as an exemplary woman.
Ruicha had a history of a heart ailment and at one time was admitted in Masvingo City at a private hospital for the same condition.
After the death of her husband she relocated to Mundondo in Gutu where she continued to spread the word of God and converting many to Jesus Christ during that time.
‘She confided to me last October that she had developed heart problem, but was fine. She had a positive mind.
‘She feared God and died after a week’s long commitment of evangelism.
‘Youths and widows have been robbed of a mentor and forthright leader.
“The gap that she has left will be difficult to fill,’ said one of the women who was with her at the Zunde crusade.
Burial arrangements are yet to be made public, but mourners are gathered at Mundondo Village in Gutu.
