HARARE-NetOne Group Chief Executive Officer, Eng. Raphael Mushanawani has described his recognition as the Overall Super Platinum Winner and Best of the Best CEO at the Zimbabwe CEOs Network Awards as a reflection of collective leadership, innovation and company’s commitment to national development rather than an individual achievement.

Eng. Mushanawani said he accepted the honour with humility, gratitude and a renewed sense of responsibility, describing it as recognition of an institution that has embraced innovation, resilience and digital transformation in pursuit of Zimbabwe’s development goals.

He said the award reflects NetOne’s impact beyond financial performance, highlighting the company’s expansion of connectivity, investment in digital infrastructure, improved customer experience and efforts to bridge the digital divide.

According to Eng. Mushanawani, the true measure of success lies in improving the lives of Zimbabweans by connecting schools, empowering entrepreneurs and bringing rural communities into the digital economy.

Guided by a leadership philosophy centred on service, vision and execution, Eng. Mushanawani believes great leaders inspire people, build strong institutions and create environments where innovation can thrive.

He credited the dedication and professionalism of the NetOne team for the organisation’s achievements, emphasising that no leader succeeds alone.

Looking ahead, Eng. Mushanawani said, “NetOne will continue playing a strategic role in Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030 agenda by investing in future-ready technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, cloud computing and the Internet of Things.”

He said the company aims to position Zimbabwe as an active participant in the global digital economy while driving inclusive economic growth through expanded connectivity.

He also acknowledged Government support in promoting digitalisation and recognised the strategic role played by the Mutapa Investment Fund in strengthening governance, accountability and value creation within State-Owned Enterprises.

Beyond business success, Eng. Mushanawani said leadership should be measured by the opportunities created, institutions strengthened and lives transformed. He urged young professionals to dream boldly, embrace excellence and view leadership as an opportunity to serve others.

Eng. Mushanawani added that he hopes to leave a legacy of transforming institutions into engines of national development, empowering people through technology and ensuring NetOne continues connecting communities, unlocking opportunities and improving lives for generations to come.
