MASVINGO-A Masvingo Provincial Hospital theatre general hand (40) has left the Mucheke community and his workmates in a state of shock after being arrested for allegedly raping his daughter (16) and giving her a dollar each time after ravaging her.
The theatre general hand would allegedly place a dollar under his biological daughter’s pillow each time after raping her in her bedroom which she shares with her two siblings aged 8 and 13.
The man appeared before Magistrate Archie Wochiunga for raping his daughter doing form 4 at a school in Mucheke and pleaded not guilty and the matter was postponed to April 7 for trial.
Innocent Mudzingwa prosecuted.
The accused is being represented by Tafadzwa Mbwachena of Ruvengo Maboke Legal Practitioners.
Mudzingwa told the court that between January and March 30, the accused would sneak into the complainant’s unlocked bedroom, remove the blankets covering her as well as her underwear and insert his erect penis inside her vagina without her consent.
The accused would use the same method including on March 30 at around 0100hours when his wife woke up after discovering that he was not in the room.
She went to the toilet to relieve herself and on her way back met her husband on their bedroom door. She then checked her children and found out that the complainant was half naked and upon enquiry the girl said she was feeling hot.
The wife confronted her husband about what she had seen but he remained silent.
The following morning the mother took the complainant to Chikato Police Station and a report was made.
The complainant was taken to Masvingo Provincial Hospital for medical examinations which confirmed the rape, sources told The Midweek Watch.
The complainant was taken to victim friendly unit at the hospital where she narrated her ordeal, implicating her father for committing the crime.
The father was subsequently arrested and appeared in court on April 1, 2026 and pleaded not guilty.
